1. $50,000 was contributed by the JICSL to the United Way's special fund for COVID-19. Our president, Hope Woodhouse, is on the United Way's "Unmet Needs Committee" which will assess the needs and distribute funds raised.
2. $1,048,000 in Grants awarded. On March 16, we verbally contacted the 40 agencies we will fund and told them what their grant amount would be of the $1,048,000. Additionally, early this year we made a $60,000 grant to the Early Learning
Given the current health and economic environment, the JICSL would like to provide an update on our efforts in Indian River County, both with respect to COVID-19 as well as the community. We have been coordinating with local social service and government agencies as well as the United Way.
Coalition out of the Marlynn Scully Strategic Fund, and John's Island Employees and their children were awarded Scholarships
totaling $57,700.
3. $1,215,700 awarded this year, is the largest total grant amount in the history of the JICSL. This was only possible due to the generosity and support of our members and sponsors. We cannot thank them enough.
